Question:

What do You think Jesus meant when he said, "The poor you will always have with you"? Please give me your thoughts... Thanks.

Thank you....I try to be honest! ;)

And I have no idea what Jesus meant....maybe he was trying to make the point that even if you're wealthy today...you may not be tomorrow????

OR the fact that there are always people who need help and need to be loved and served. Maybe poor has a broader meaning...Maybe we are rice in ways besides money (i.e. kindness/love/open heart), so we can share that with others.

Mark 14:7 right?

If you read the verse in context, it should make sense. A lady poured an expensive perfume on Jesus' feet and people were incredulous why she would waste the perfume on his FEET when she could have sold it and given the money to the poor.

Jesus was making the point that there will always be poor people to help, but He was only going to be around for so long.

Basically, in helping the poor, we are doing unto Christ. But while Christ was right in front of them, they should be doing things directly to Him.

Does that make sense?

If not, comment on my blog, and we can talk more. :)

No, no. I like rice. It's very Chinese-like.
